In some I/O use cases, an e1000 driver can become CPU-bound, which may slow down the remaining nodes and compromise read rates. This issue is likely related to RX overflow errors on the nodes. To improve efficiency, increase the RX ring buffer size (the default value is 256). Use one of these options:<br />
/sbin/ethtool -G ethX rx 4096<br />
OR<br />
e1000 module option 'RxDescriptors=4096'<br />
