If you plan to enable failover server functionality with Lustre™ (either on an OSS or MDS), you must add high-availability (HA) software to your cluster software. You can use any HA software package with Lustre.
For more information about failover in a Lustre file system, see Chapter 8:Failover in the Lustre Operations Manual. This chapter is currently being revised. Watch for a new version coming soon.
For a user-contributed guide to configuring Lustre failover with Pacemaker, see Using Pacemaker with Lustre. Note: Using Pacemaker with Lustre is not officially supported at this time.
